Setup My Account

The key to the entire My Gumtree Ads service is the fact that once you’ve posted an ad on Gumtree you can post a link to it to Twitter.

This means that twitter can be used as a middle-man, or so to speak, to build a catalogue of links to your items on Gumtree.

What we do is read in this feed of links and construct a single catalogue/store style page (something like this) for you based on the details you posted in your original ad.

So, with this in mind, to be able to use My Gumtree Ads, you first need a Twitter account that you can post your ad links to.

The setup of a twitter account is extremely easy to do (all you have to do is fill out this form) and once you have your twitter username to hand you can start using our service.

If you already have a twitter account which you don’t mind posting your ad links to, then feel free to use that one. If not, or if you have a large number of items to add to Gumtree, I’d recommend setting up a new account specifically to hold your ad postings and avoid cluttering up your main timeline.

Once you have your twitter username to hand, just simply signup to our site here, add it in, check the retrieve ads box and we’ll start building your ads list on our next processing run.

Soon (literally in a few days time) there will be  button added to user accounts to allow you to manually rebuild your ads page, but until then you’ll have to rely on our schedule retrieval.

Once your user account is setup with us and we’ve retrieved your ads, you can begin managing your page!
